It takes one hour via China Southwest Airlines to reach Gonggar Airport at Lhasa from Kathmandu, enjoying views of the Himalayan ranges including the highest peak of the world Mount Everest. Lhasa is an administrative capital of China’s autonomous region of Tibet, known as “the roof of the world” and also the second most populous city of Tibet with unique culture, life styles and people. Monterosa Treks and Expedition, located at Thamel, Kathmandu organizes exciting trips to this amazing land every year.
Our escorts will handle all the immigration and customs formalities at the Gonggar Airport and then you will be taken to the hotel for a night stay within a two hour drive (about 93km) from Airport. The following two days are recommended to spend at this place to adjust with the climate and temperature as the city is located at an altitude of 3650 meters. The beautiful houses, the ancient Potala Palace, Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery, Zokhang Temple and the Norbu lingka etc are the worthy places to visit in this city.
On the third day, you will be taken to visit Mount Kailash enjoying the exciting views of Tibetan Highland settings and Yarlung Tsangpo River Valley. Inspecting Kailash Parvat (6714 meters), now you will be taken to visit another important pilgrimage destination of Kailash region, the Manasarovar Lake, which is just 15 meters below Mount Kailash. It takes three days to accomplish the Kailash Kora (Kailash Circumambulation), our ultimate pilgrimage achievement.
Then you will simply be driven back to the Miteri Bridge (Friendship Bridge) from where you will have a coach ride back to Kathmandu. This is how our holy trip is terminated. Kailash-The Mysterious Holy Peak; The mysterious holy peak, Mt. Kailash (6714m), which is also considered to be the sacred abode of Lord Shiva and Parvati by Hindus, is often venerated by Buddhist, Jain and the Bonpo: Tibetan indigenous religion with the belief of existence of gods and goddesses in this area. This snow covered black peak is the mother of four holy rivers of Asia namely, the Brahmaputra, The Ganges, The Sutlej and The Indus.
Circumambulating the 53 km periphery of this Mountain is believed to be the holiest thing to do which will rinse off all known and unknown sins ever committed in life with the ultimate reward of Salvation " Mokshya". This Peak is worshipped by different religious people with different beliefs; some call it the meditating spot of Lord Buddha, Some as the savior of the entire Universe, some as the exact center of the Universe. Though their perception is different their ultimate faith is the supreme sacredness of this Mountain. Saptrishi Cave; Saptrishi Cave is said to be the meditating cave of Seven Blessed great Saints. Walking from Darchen to Serlung Gompa and walking again for ten minutes takes us to Ashtapad, literally meaning Eight Steps. It is a spectacular mountain amphitheater at the base of Mount Kailash.

Nandi Kora is quite difficult as anyone needs to be very fit for walking & rock climbing near the Saptrishi cave. Saptrishi Cave and 13 Chhurten can be seen from here. After 10 minutes of steep climbing, we can see Sarung Checksum La pass 5858m. Mountain guides are needed for this trip to fix ropes and carry some emergency oxygen for the Yatri / travelers which makes the journey easier. After ci0rcumambulating Nandi Parvat, we will return back to Serlung Gompa and then continue our trek to Darchen, where we will spend our night.
Serlung Gompa -Saptrishi Cave/ Atma Lingam / Nandi Parikrama is at 13 kilometers distance. It is said that a person who moves Nandi once, gets an equal merit of rotating the Kailash Parvat for 13 times. That’s why people want to perform Nandi Kora.

Lake Manasarovar; Located 15 meters below the holy Kailash Parbat, is another important pilgrimage destination that falls in the Kailash region. It is situated at an elevation of 4580 meters above the sea level. The name of this Lake is made up of two Sanskrit words; Manas means mind and Sarovar means Lake. Hence, it is often called as a Lake of Consciousness As Mount Kailash; this lake has long religious and spiritual connection to Both Hindus and Buddhists. Hindus describe it as the bathing lake of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Buddhist justifies that Lord Buddha meditated nearby this Lake to obtain enlightenment, the reality of life.

One dip into the cold, emerald water of this lake is considered as the holiest thing to do which is believed to take the person into heaven after death. The holy bath and rotation of the gigantic lake is believed to rinse of the sins of 100 births with the reward of Salvation: Mokshya, an escape from the cycle of Birth-death-rebirth of the monstrous life. Hence every individual dreams to visit this holy place at least once in their lifetime. Monterosa makes a very pleasant trip to these purgatories. Please contact us soon for booking this year. Om Namoh shivaya.

Visit Doleshwor (Doleshwar Mahadev Temple) for all the Shiva devotees, it is believed that the trip to Kailash is incomplete without visiting Doleshwar Mahadev and Pasupatinath temple. On Aug. 22, 2009, Doleshwar Mahadev was officially declared as the head of Kedarnath, one of the Char Dham Yatra. All in the year 2013, after the devastating flood hit the temple of Kedarnath, situated in Uttarkhand, the regular prayers that were interrupted were carried out in Doleshwar Temple. The head priest of Kedarnath Temple requested regular prayers that used to be held in the Kedarnath Temple to be held in the Doleshwar Mahadev Temple.
Buddhist Temple Boudha: Named after its immense stupa, Buddha is a pilgrimage destination for Tibetans. Devotees stroll around the gleaming white dome adorned with painted Buddha eyes and visit nearby monasteries and schools for prayers and seminars. Boudhanath is a stupa in Kathmandu, Nepal. The stupa has stood as a hallmark of faith and harmony for centuries with Hindu temples and deities incorporated in this Buddhist site. The glory of Kathmandu Valley is said to have started from this point. Evening briefing Kailash Manasarovar tour and provide Diamox medicine, Duffel bag, small day bag.
  • 12 June 2024 Day 03: Early in the morning, Kailash pilgrims are taken to Pasupatinath temple for Rudra Consecration called Rudra Abhishek, Hawan and Aarati. Seven or 11 Brahmins priests prepare for fire offering Hawan in Pavilion (Mandap) and do Sankalpa Pooja in the beginning followed by Swastibachan (Preaching), Nyas, Rudra preaching and Mahamritunjaya (Death victory) Pooja. The word ‘Rudra’, meaning ‘Fearful Lord Shiva’ has come from Rudrabhishek, Rudranti Iti Rudri, Rudhiryoge Metal. It means there is pain, violence, greed among people on this Earth and we perform religious hymns in praise of God Shiva so that he escapes people from all these miseries of life and grants justice, good health, prosperity, peace and Salvation. This is why Rudri is done for Peaceful life. During the Kailash tour, visiting Pashupatinath and its worship is the first thing to do for pilgrims. It is believed that worshipping Lord Pashupatinath, doing Aarati grants all kinds of good merits to devotees. This is why the Kailash Tour is believed to be complete only after a holy visit to Pashupatinath. Kailash Manasarovar is one of the most important pilgrimage sites.
Kailash is a pilgrimage even to many Jyothirlinga and Shiva Temples. In this Universe, Humans are superior to Soul, Sages are superior to Humans, Gods are superior to sages and Lord Shiva is superior even to Gods and Kailash is the dwelling place of supreme Lord Shiva. So, every pilgrimage is believed to be incomplete without the Kailash Pilgrimage. It is a popular religious trend to wish for a successful Kailash Tour by doing Rudra (Shiva’s idol) Consecration and fire offering (Hawan) to Lord Pashupatinath, which takes about 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours.
After Rudra Abhishek, join Panchamrit Pooja in Pashupatinath temple every day 9:30 AM to 11 AM Bhatta pujari. Offering available in the temple but it is a payable Pooja and with Pooja Thali, milk, Rudrachhe mala, flower garland and a lamp. Devotee offers it to the priest. By offering Panchamrit Pooja for lord Pasupatinath fulfills all the desired wishes for the Kailash Manasarovar Yatra / tour. The ceremony ends after getting Prasad and Rudraccha mala. This Pooja is available only Hindu devotees. Other religions are not allowed to enter the main gates.
Visit Gujeswari / Guyeshori Shakti Pith temple. Among Astha Matrilas (Eight mother Goddesses) she is mother of all. She is worshiped by Hindu and Buddhist both. According to Pauranik Katha Hindu legend. Lord Shiva’s 1st consort SATI DEVI offered by some insult of her husband Shiva dropped herself into YAGYAAKUND (A religious fire ceremony) Load Shiva’s retrieved her, fire burned corpse senseless him by grief and flew to and fro across Nepal and the Indian subcontinent. SATI DEVI’s body is scattered in 51 Shakti Pith. Guyeshori is a place where her secret part (GOPYA) vagina, some says her anus fell to which we call Guyeshori. She protects deities of Kathmandu valley as well. Back to the hotel and have a vegetarian buffet lunch.
Budhanilkantha: Afternoon around 2:00 PM start sightseeing with a holy guide to Budhanilkantha (Jal Narayan) Vishnu Temple located in Budhanilkantha, Nepal, is a Hindu open air temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Budhanilkantha Temple is situated below the Shivapuri Hill at the northern end of the Kathmandu valley & can be identified by a large reclining statue of Lord Vishnu. Budhanilkantha, portrays a sleeping Vishnu, floating like a gigantic astronaut on a bed of snakes in the middle of a big pool of water depicting the cosmic ocean. The name Budhanilkantha has nothing to do with Buddha, but literally means “blue throat disguised by mud”. The peculiar name refers to two legends attached to the statue, one of them saying that a farmer found the long lost statue in the mud when working his field with a plough and the other saying that Vishnu sacrificed himself by drinking the poison of the cosmic ocean, which then turned his throat blue.
