Vijay Dashimi (Dasain Main Festival in Hindu religion in Nepal) tour 2012

Dashain Jamara

Vijay Dashimi is the greatest auspicious festival of the Hindus. It takes place in the month of Ashbin bright fortnight (October). Educational institutions get holiday for the fifteen day; since the beginning day of the festival called Ghatasthapana; and the rest of His Majesty's Government's Officials get holiday only for seven days since the Fulpati day till to the coming full moon. Goddess mother Durga Bhawani is highly worshipped during this festival period. The Goddess is believed to be the sources of all kind of vital power and strength. In the Silver age Lord Ram had worshipped to Goddess mother Bhagawati Durga to receive power to kill the hatred Demon Rawan. Lastly the Goddess mother was appeased by his devotion and he was graced power to kill the abhorrence Demon. Then all the people of the earth were relieved from his frightening.

This festival is the unity day of all the dispersed family members. They try to get together in their house to meet the families at any rate in this time though they are staying in any part of the globe. Also the mythology explains that one should forget their hostilities and enmity occurred in the past with their relatives or friends and should unite together in the congenial friendship for the days to come. The scriptures say more "If he is a true Hindu he follows this sermon and the lord offers him a good blessing". That's why this festival is the unity day to forget all kinds of enmity as well.
