Upper Mustang Trek

Upper Mustang is located in Mustang, biggest district in Nepal, which borders Tibet in the Himalayas. The climate here is mostly dry with very few rainfall. People here called Mustangis who bear striking resemblance of Tibetans in culture and lifestyle. Upper Mustang is a geographical wonder with cliffs, caves, barren landscape and very few vegetation. Trekkers will have to get special permit to enter Upper Mustang. Lo Manthang is the capital of Mustang, the walled city ruled by Mustangi kings for centuries. During this trek you will also visit the temple of Chumig Gaytsa or Muktinath and the medieval Thakali town of Kagbeni and Jomsom. The trek provides beautiful views of Nilgiri, Tukche, Annapurna and Dhaulagiri peaks. The highest elevation reached during this trek is 3800m. This trek is best approached during May to October.
