We will visit Thame monastery, which is a day's trek from Namche to see and observe the Main Rimdu Festival. Thame Monastery is one of the three places where this festival is hosted, the other two being Thyanboche and Chiwang Monasteries, as per Tibetan lunar calendar. During the event, Buddhist monks gather at the monastery in participation of local Sherpa communities for five days of worshipping and Puja seeking peace and love across the world. The event showcases special masked dance performances, laying out of Sand Mandala, and performing Ser-kyem for the attainment of Buddhahood. As part of this trip you will stay in Thame monastery for three days as both participants and observe.

Aside from the festival, you will also trek to Everest Base Camp (5364m.) and Kalapather (5545m.) to capture breathtaking views of Mt. Everest, the world's highest mountain, along with Cho Oyu, Nuptse, Lhotse, Island Peak, Thamserku, Kangtenga as well as the stunning Khumbu Glacier. The trail passes through Sherpa villages of Phakding, Namche, Lobuche and Pheriche. You will also visit Thyanboche Monastery for superb views of Mt. Ama Dablam.
