A long high forested ridge that divides the Arun and Tamur river as well as valleys in eastern Nepal is the Guphapokhari. You can flight from Kathmandu to Tumlingtar and trek to Gupha Pokhari to see the Mount Kanchanjunga north; also the trek offers the view of Makalu to the west and Kanchanjunga to the east very nicely. There are huge forests of rhododendrons along the ridge and it is good to make a spring trek for your remarkable one. You may go ahead for the mountain views if you schedule a trek in April, and to see the rhododendrons in bloom. The eastern Nepal in springtime often becomes rainy and cloudy.
