Mount Hiunchuli 6441m. Expedition autumn 2012
Mount Hiunchuli, at a height of 6,441 meters high from sea level, forms a massive south-facing wall together with, Annapurna 1 – 8091 meters, Annapurna South as well as other snow capped peaks. Its eastern part overlooks the Modi River & guards the entrance to the Annapurna Sanctuary and Annapurna base camp. An American Peace Corps Expedition, via the south- east face, first ascended Hiunchuli 6441 meter in October 1971. Mount Hiumchuli is not technically difficult to climb but is vulnerable to rock falls & route finding may also be a problem. Even though it offers major new route potentials, it has received little attention from climbers and is rarely climbed. Monterosa Treks and expedition operating this peak for all mountaineers.
