The Royal Chitwan National Park
Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve

Bardiya National park (968 sq. km); is the largest and most undisturbed
wilderness area in the Terai. Thickly covered with sal trees and
carpeted with class and savannah , the park has the second largest
tiger population after Chitwan National park. Other wild animals
that roam here are the one-horned rhino, wild elephant, swamp deer,
black buck, antelope, Gharial crocodile, and gangetic dolphin. Endangered
birds that make there home here include the Bengal florican and
sarus crane. The Park headquarters is about a four hour drive from
the town of Nepalgunj which is linked to the Kathmandu by road (531km)
and by air 75 Minutes.
Cost: US$175
per person
Includes:
all accommodation, meals, jungle guide and all jungle activities
as per standard package, park entrance fees , go and return land
transportation private bus. How to getting there; Being 17 hours
drive from Kathmandu, Getting to Royal Bardiya National Park is
the main drawback. Many people do not main extra " Excitement'
taking local transportation - all you are in Nepal to gain new experience!
Other prefer to spend the extra money on domestic flights(US$99.00
one way). However if you are looking for the " Middle road"
this is the solution. Royal Bardia National park does not have the
same facilities you would fine in like Chitwan. However it is the
jungle experience and insight into a different life style that is
the main attraction. Local people use Ox and buffalo to plough the
fields and grind the rice by hand (leg power actually!!).
