As soon as you arrive to Kathmandu, staffs of Monterosa Treks and Expedition welcome you at Airport and transfer you to hotel. The next day, with our entire crew members we have the introduction session. Then, other necessary documents and Tibet Visa will be arranged for Everest Expedition. On the third day, you will be driven towards Nepal-Tibet border on the Araniko Highway. Friendship Bridge (Miteri Bridge) is located through Araniko Highway, where the Chinese liaison officers and Chinese transportation keep waiting for us. We drive you by Land Cruiser 4WD to Zhangmu, which is the first entrance city to Tibet whereas the expedition gears are taken by truck.
One night at Zhangmu (2300m) and two nights at Nyalam (3750) are taken to acclimatize you, and also, there are chances to trek up the hills for acclimatization, which give you good refreshment for your journey ahead. Next day we drive to Tingri (4350m) and spend further two nights acclimatizing. From Tingri we drive to Base camp (5200m) following the bumpy way through the grassy plain way which leads you till to the Everest Base Camp, which is also known as Chinese Base Camp. At Chinese Base Camp, we have set up our camps and stay two nights or more that depends on our member’s desire. Yaks schedules are also prepare by that time. Fixed at different places, Base camp and Advance Base Camp (ABC) are kept there permanently and now from there it’s just two days to ABC.
ABC (6400m) is reached on walking for two days along with the Yaks. The route goes to the east Rongbuk glacier from ABC and after that there is an easy snowy slope to the North Col at 7070m, where camp 1 is situated. There is a long angled snow slopes to climb 7900m after that., where camp 2 should be put on the snow with mixed rocks. The route from camp 2 to camp 3 is a bit difficult as it is the series of rock. Camp 3 is at the height of 8300m on the sloppy rocks. Target North summit from Camp 3 and last evening start climbing for final summit. There is again a series of rocky climbs on the route followed by a median angled snow slopes, where we have to climb on joint rocks and snow until we reach Camp heights of 8400m. Ropes should be fixed to climb on the safety lines to reach there. Safety lines provide you safe during your tiredness and windy climate as this route is quite windy.
Mixed route with rocks and snow steps begins. As this is very steeps route, you must be careful to yourself, your clothing and oxygen equipments. The North East Ridge after that is wider but until we reach the place to fix the rope we have to climb through small steps with a little bit height.
Then the climbing above is a little bit exposed but it is easy to move ahead in the second steps. The route is in the series of small nude ridge after the second step, which sometimes seems snow covered. Then the larger boulder route comes where ladders are required to climb ahead. We should fix the rope after that section of route. Then the route is relatively easy with gentle ground until we reach at the third steps. While moving ahead, we should use the fixed rope to the Col before the final summit of snowy slopes as it is not the ridge as the previous steps. Fixed ropes are needed walking on the steeply struts rocks ahead, from where there is a short section of corniced ridge to reach the world’s highest summit Mount Everest.(8848m).
