Kailash Tour package or Mount Kailash Inner and outer Kora Yatra organize by Monterosa Treks and Expedition (P.) Ltd. But now officially closed. We hope open soon.
It takes one hour via China Southwest Airlines to reach Gonggar Airport at Lhasa from Kathmandu, enjoying views of the Himalayan ranges including the highest peak of the world Mount Everest. Lhasa is an administrative capital of China’s autonomous region of Tibet, known as “the roof of the world” and also the second most populous city of Tibet with unique culture, life styles and people. Monterosa Treks and Expedition, located at Thamel, Kathmandu organizes exciting trips to this amazing land every year.
Our escorts will handle all the immigration and customs formalities at the Gonggar Airport and then you will be taken to the hotel for a night stay within a two-hour drive (about 93km) from Airport. The following two days are recommended to spend at this place to adjust with the climate and temperature as the city is located at an altitude of 3650 meters. The beautiful houses, the ancient Potala Palace, Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery, Zokhang Temple and the Norbu linka etc are the worthy places to visit in this city.
On the third day, you will be taken to visit Mount Kailash enjoying the exciting views of Tibetan Highland settings and Yarlung Tsangpo River Valley. Inspecting Kailash Parvat (6714 meters), now you will be taken to visit another important pilgrimage destination of Kailash region, the Manasarovar Lake, which is just 15 meters below Mount Kailash. It takes three days to accomplish the Kailash Kora (Kailash Circumambulation), our ultimate pilgrimage achievement.
Then you will simply be driven back to the Miteri Bridge (Friendship Bridge) from where you will have a coach ride back to Kathmandu. This is how our holy trip is terminated. Kailash-The Mysterious Holy Peak; The mysterious holy peak, Mt. Kailash (6714m), which is also considered to be the sacred abode of Lord Shiva and Parvati by Hindus, is often venerated by Buddhist, Jain and the Bonpo: Tibetan indigenous religion with the belief of existence of gods and goddesses in this area. This snow covered black peak is the mother of four holy rivers of Asia namely, the Brahmaputra, The Ganges, The Sutlej and The Indus.
Circumambulating the 53 km periphery of this Mountain is believed to be the holiest thing to do which will rinse off all known and unknown sins ever committed in life with the ultimate reward of Salvation " Mokshya". This Peak is worshipped by different religious people with different beliefs; some call it the meditating spot of Lord Buddha, Some as the savior of the entire Universe, some as the exact center of the Universe. Though their perception is different their ultimate faith is the supreme sacredness of this Mountain. Saptrishi Cave; Saptrishi Cave is said to be the meditating cave of Seven Blessed Great Saints. Walking from Darchen to Serlung Gompa and walking again for ten minutes takes us to Astpada, literally meaning Eight Steps. It is a spectacular mountain amphitheater at the base of Mount Kailash.
Nandi Kora is quite difficult as anyone needs to be very fit for walking & rock climbing near the Saptrishi cave. Saptrishi Cave and 13 Chhurten can be seen from here. After 10 minutes of steep climbing, we can see Serlung Checksum La pass 5858m. Mountain guides are needed for this trip to fix ropes and carry some emergency oxygen for the Yatri / travelers which makes the journey easier. After ci0rcumambulating Nandi Parvat, we will return back to Serlung Gompa and then continue our trek to Darchen, where we will spend our night. Serlung Gompa -Saptrishi Cave/ Atma Lingam / Nandi Parikrama is at 13 kilometers distance. It is said that a person who moves Nandi once, gets an equal merit of rotating the Kailash Parvat for 13 times. That’s why people want to perform Nandi Kora.
Lake Manasarovar; Located 58 meters below the holy Kailash Parbat, is another important pilgrimage destination that falls in the Kailash region. It is situated at an elevation of 4580 meters above the sea level. The name of this Lake is made up of two Sanskrit words; Manas means mind and Sarovar means Lake. Hence, it is often called as a Lake of Consciousness as Mount Kailash; this lake has long religious and spiritual connection to Both Hindus and Buddhists. Hindus describe it as the bathing lake of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Buddhist justifies that Lord Buddha meditated nearby this Lake to obtain enlightenment, the reality of life.
One dip into the cold, emerald water of this lake is considered as the holiest thing to do which is believed to take the person into heaven after death. The holy bath and rotation of the gigantic lake is believed to rinse of the sins of 100 births with the reward of Salvation: Mokshya, an escape from the cycle of Birth-death-rebirth of the monstrous life. Hence every individual dreams to visit this holy place at least once in their lifetime. Monterosa makes a very pleasant trip to these purgatories. Please contact us soon for booking this year. Om Namoh Shivaya.

We collect all Yatri's original Passports and apply Tibet visa for Kailash tour in Chinese embassy in Kathmandu. Evening, Arati Darshan in Pashupatinath as well as Aarati holy dance bank of holy river Baghmati front of Pashupatinath temple, back to hotel and have a vegetarian buffet dinner.
- 05 June 2025 Day 02: At around 8:00 am, we begin our holy sightseeing tour in the Kathmandu valley with a guide. Saga Nepal, a Shiva temple that is among the tallest in Nepal is Kailashnath Mahadev Statue. This is the second tallest Hindu deity in the world after the Garuda Wisnu Kencana Statue in Bali, Indonesia. A total of 144 feet / 44 meters high, the statue was made of copper, zinc, cement, and steel. The Kailash Nath Shiva statue is located about 20 km from Kathmandu in Sanga, Nepal. After Kailashnath visit drive to Doleshwor Mahadev temple.
Visit Doleshwor The trip to Kailash is incomplete without visiting Doleshwor Mahadev and Pashupatinath temples for Shiva devotees. As of Aug. 22, 2009, Doleshwor Mahadev was officially declared the head of Kedarnath, one of the Char Dham Yatra. After the devastating flood of 2013, which destroyed Kedarnath Temple in Uttarkhand, Doleshwor Temple continued to offer regular prayers. In the Kedarnath Temple, the head priest requested that regular prayers be held in the Doleshwor Mahadev Temple.
Buddhist Temple Boudhanath: The Buddha shrine is a Tibetan pilgrimage destination named after its enormous stupa. During prayers and seminars, devotees stroll around the gleaming white dome adorned with painted Buddha eyes. Kathmandu's Boudhanath stupa. The stupa's massive mandala makes it the largest spherical stupa in Nepal, located about 10 km from the center and northeastern outskirts of Kathmandu. One of the largest stupas in the world, the Buddha Stupa dominates the skyline. This is the point from which Kathmandu Valley gained its glory. It is the nine carnations of Vishnu that we are showing in Boudhanath. The site has been declared a world heritage site by UNESCO.
Visit Guhyeshwari / There are eight mother goddesses in the Astha Matrilas (Eight Mother Goddesses). Among them is Guhyeshori Shakti Pith temple. According to the Hindu legend Pauranik Katha. When Shiva's first consort SATI DEVI was insulted by her husband, she dropped herself into YAGYAAKUND (a religious fire ceremony). His corpse was burned senseless by grief when Shiva retrieved her and flew from Nepal to India. In the area where SATI DEVI's body lies, 51 Shakti Piths can be found. We call Guhyeshori the place where her secret part (GOPYA) vagina fell to, which we call Guhyeshori. We return to the hotel for a vegetarian buffet lunch, and she protects the deities of the Kathmandu Valley as well. - 06 June 2025 Day 03: Kailash pilgrims are taken to Pashupatinath temple early in the morning for Rudrabhishek, Hawan and Aarati. Eleven Brahmin priests prepare for fire offering Hawan in the Pavilion (Mandap) and perform Sankalpa Pooja in the beginning. Swastibachan (Preaching), Nyas, Rudra preaching, and Mahamritunjaya (Death victory) Pooja follow. The word 'Rudra', which means 'Fearful Lord Shiva' comes from Rudrabhishek, Rudranti Iti Rudri, and Rudhiryoge Metal. Among people on this planet, there is pain, violence, greed, and we sing religious hymns in praise of God Shiva to escape these miseries of life and to grant justice, good health, prosperity, peace and salvation.
For this reason, Rudri is done to ensure peace in the World. Pilgrims begin their Kailash tour by visiting Pashupatinath and worshipping there. Devotees are believed to obtain all kinds of good merits by worshipping Lord Pashupatinath and performing Aarati. As a result, Kailash tours are believed to be complete only after a holy visit to Pashupatinath in Kathmandu. There is no doubt that Kailash Manasarovar is one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites in the World. Even more than 12 Jyothirlinga and Shiva Temples, Kailash is a sacred pilgrimage. The soul is superior to the human, the sages are superior to the human, the gods are superior to the gods, and Lord Shiva is superior even to the gods and Kailash is his dwelling place. As a result, every pilgrimage is incomplete without the Kailash Pilgrimage.
A popular religious practice is to perform Rudra (Shiva's idol) Consecration and fire offering (Hawan) to Lord Pashupatinath to wish for a successful Kailash tour. The Panchamrit Pooja is held every day in Pashupatinath temple from 9:30 AM to 11 AM by Bhatta Pujari after Rudrabhishek. It is a payable Pooja and comes with a Pooja Thali, milk, Rudrasha mala, flower garland and a lamp. Performing Panchamrit Pooja for Lord Pashupatinath fulfills all the desired wishes for the Kailash Manasarovar Yatra / tour. The ceremony concludes with the distribution of Prasad and Rudrasha mala. Only Hindu devotees can perform this Pooja. Religions other than Christianity are not allowed to enter the main gates. All of these rituals are included in the Kailash
Manasarovar package.
Budhanilkantha: In the afternoon around 2:30 PM, begin sightseeing with a holy guide at the Budhanilkantha (Jal Narayan) Vishnu Temple, an open-air Hindu temple located in Budhanilkantha, Nepal. There is a large reclining statue of Lord Vishnu in front of Budhanilkantha temple, which is located below the Shivapuri Hill at the northern end of the Kathmandu valley.
Budhanilkantha depicts Vishnu sleeping on a snake bed in the middle of the cosmic ocean depicted by a big pool of water. Budhanilkantha means "blue throat disguised by mud" and has nothing to do with Buddha. The peculiar name refers to two legends attached to the statue, one of them claiming that a farmer found the long lost statue in the mud when working his field with a plough and the other claiming that Vishnu sacrificed himself by drinking the poison of the cosmic ocean, which turned his throat blue. Back to hotel and free. - 07 June 2025 Day 04: It is the first day of Yatra today. In a private Jeep, we travel from Kathmandu to Ghatte Khola (Nepal) 152 km and further to the Nepal Tibet border. As you travel along the route, you will encounter different monasteries before reaching Chiu Gompa. Checking in Mud or guest which is basic facilities for all. Full moon night in Manasarovar.
- 12 June 2025 Day 09: Manas means 'brain' and Sarovar means 'Lake of consciousness'.
Sacred and spiritual significance attaches to Manasarovar in Hinduism and Buddhism. Stop deep bathing in 2018 AD. Pilgrims are permitted to wash their hands in the Lake. It has been closed to empty and deep bathing. The workers of our company bring water from Manasarovar inside the tents, where it is heated by cooking and mixed with cold water. Separate tents are available for males and females to bathe.
After bathing each Yatri, a Nepali Brahman priest performs Rudrabhishek, Hawan and Aarti with Pushpanajali. Aarti, Rudrabhishek and Pushpanajali are offered to all pilgrims or families visiting Kailash Manasarovar on the full moon evening or the next day. They exchange happiness after performing the Hawan (offering grains mixed with butter to Pooja) and Aarati (butter lamps) have been completed. Some of them are meditating while others are reciting the names of their ancestral gods. Take lunch after Hindu rituals and drive to Darchen (4600 meters - 40 kilometers) for the night. - 13 June 2025 Day 10: Drive from to Tarboche (Yam Dwar - gate for the God of Death). From Yam Dwar, our journey starts by walking to Dirapuk (4890 meters - 11 kilometers) a Monastery. Here some Yatri can take either a pony or some local porters for 3 days. (If you take pony & porter) You should tell in Manasarovar Lake and Tibetan guide will be managing all before starting the Kora. If you take a pony for round Kailash, much and much easier for doing Yatra Tour, this is the first day of Kailash Parikrama. We should start our journey after breakfast as early as possible. This day, we have to walk continuously for about 5 to 6 hours. Yak will carry all our goods and equipment, From Dirapuk, you can see Mt. Kailash north face is much closed, looks Shiva god staying there. There we stay at Dirapuk mud house/Guesthouse.

After one hour walking through glacier you need to take the help of rope to get Khangde Shangla pass through steep climb. The elevation of Khangde Shangla pass is 5675m from the sea level. A little comfortable walking from there you can view Kuber Parvat [5998m]. Another 10 minutes' walk approaches you to see Kuber Kunda [Lake]. If you want to feel or receive holy water of Kuber Kunda or pay homage you need to turn right from the normal route. Mt. Kuber and Kuber Kunda are the best places for pilgrims’ ecstasy in the region. After getting down from Kuber Kunda the road is connected with Dolma La or Dorma La that leads to reach to Zuthulpuk. You can also have chance to see the top of Mt. Kailash from Southwestern side from here which is the last location for it. Usually, pilgrims and tourists reach to Chiu Gompa that is located near Manasarovar Lake via Darchen. Having mountain guide and oxygen is essential for this trip. Similarly, arrangement of rope is obligatory, in order to cross Khangde Shangla pass. Since the journey of Sapta Rishi Cave and Khangde Shangla Pass is very difficult not all the pilgrims can complete it.
