On the lap gap between Mount Everest and Mount Makalu, Pancha Pokhari is located near Baruntse Base Camp (5200m.). It can also be reached through Makalu Base Camp in the Arun valley. Mount Baruntse is located at an elevation of 7129m. On 30 May 1954, Colin Todd and Geoff Harrow climbed this mountain via South-East Ridge for the first time. The summit of this mountain has been reached by climbers using this route until today. In the same way that Mount Pumori, Ama Dablam, and Mount Everest are attracting tourists to climb them, Mount Everest is attracting tourists as well. Due to the steeps and hard sections of 50 degrees' elevation and the presence of a prominent ice cliff on the way, the South-East Ridge of Baruntse is quite challenging. Although spring is the best time to climb it, many climbers begin their expeditions in autumn as well.

Monterosa Treks and Expedition, located in Thamel, Kathmandu, schedules the itinerary to reach Mount Baruntse via Kathmandu, Lukla and then an approximately 11-day hike to Baruntse Base Camp. As we return home via the same Lukla and Kathmandu route after the expedition is completed, we use the same transport system.
